We understand that your children are important, and you want to know best how to take care of them.   • Remove the gauze pads and apply ice packs once you get home.
  • Feed your child and have them take medication as is needed and directed.
  • Continue to use ice packs for the first two days in order to reduce swelling.
  • Begin to use moist heat on the third day
  • Your child should rest and relax for a couple of days.
  • You child should only eat soft foods for at least the first week.
  • Do not let your child use straws for at least the first week.
  • Your child should brush their teeth the day after surgery.
  • Clean the empty socket with warm saltwater rinses.
  • Restrict all heavy lifting and strenuous activity for one week. We can provide an excuse note if it is necessary.
